In the UK, our work is centred around providing educational and social support for people with Learning Disabilities. This is primarily to help them maximise the opportunity to engage with and participate in community life, which will also improve their well-being. Our services are aimed at enhancing independent living, access to community services and provides pathways to volunteering or paid work.
We do this by providing activities that helps people with learning disabilities improve their potentials through the following activities:
Independent Living and Digital Skills training.
Promote social activities - sports, music, drama etc.
Provide support to access community spaces like museums etc
Provide support for apprenticeships, internships or volunteering opportunities.
In Sierra Leone, most of our work is focused on providing educational and social interventions to help alleviate poverty through access to Basic Education and supporting children from disadvantaged communities and backgrounds to participate in basic education.
We do this by:
paying school fees (where applicable)
supplying uniforms and shoes
supporting school feeding programme
providing basic learning materials.
constructing learning facilities.
sponsoring and promoting extra-curricular activities such as sports, music and cultural events.
